K&N Filters

The company was founded in the 1960s by Ken Johnson and Norm McDonald, two passionate motorcycle racers who met on the dirt tracks of Southern California.  The K&N name is derived from the initials of their first names. Right from the start, they intended to develop a brand new filter design that would cope better with the demands of dirt tracks and off-road trails.

They fulfilled this objective in 1969 with the first washable and reusable high-flow air filter. In 2005, Carl Judice proved to the world the effectiveness of K&N's reusable high-flow filters when his 1998 Chevy pickup truck clocked 1,000,000 miles using the same K&N air filter.
